PLEASE NOTE: Remote processing is only available for DEALERSHIP PURCHASES (no private sales, state-to-state transfers, etc.) and only for dealership paperwork that has been delivered to our offices (cannot be used if you have your paperwork from the dealership in-hand).
- Please have all of your information gathered prior to beginning this form.You MUST confirm with your dealership that your paperwork has been delivered to our offices before you complete our remote processing form. IF YOU SUBMIT THIS FORM AND YOUR PAPERWORK HAS NOT REACHED OUR OFFICES YET, YOUR SUBMISSION WILL BE DISCARDED. YOU WILL HAVE TO RE-DO THIS PROCESS AFTER YOU CONFIRM THAT YOUR PAPERWORK HAS ACTUALLY BEEN RECEIVED.
- Please also check our live paperwork list in the link to the left to verify that your paperwork has been accepted. We update these lists as frequently as we can. If your dealership submits paperwork to our offices with errors, we send that paperwork back for correction; problems like that can delay your paperwork being added to these lists. We will not add your paperwork to our live/accepted paperwork list until all errors have been corrected.
- Your dealership may need to issue you a temporary tag extension if they are not able to satisfy our requirements by your temporary tag expiration date.We cannot complete your paperwork remotely if your dealership did not have you sign ALL necessary documents.
- IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A MONTANA ID, we will need proof of residency and a photo ID; please click on the Proof of Residency link to the left for more information on documents that qualify for Proof of Residency.
- Please provide 3 plate options when you choose your license plate background: if you do not enter this information a standard plate will be issued. There are many options; please visit the link to the left and take note the plate category and specific name for the form below.
Upon receipt of your remote processing form, our offices will issue plates and registration for your vehicle, which will be mailed to you ASAP after payment is received. We will then submit your paperwork to the State of Montana; your title will be printed and mailed from Helena after our processing is complete. Expect to receive a title in the mail approximately 6-8 weeks after we complete your title and registration paperwork.
Once we have all the necessary paperwork, we will process your request within 7 BUSINESS DAYS. If there are delays due to dealership errors, we will process as quickly as possible upon receipt of acceptable paperwork.
Please note that you must be prepared to complete payment within 7 days of receiving our payment link text message. If your payment link expires, you will have to start this process over.
If you complete and submit this form and we are unable to process your paperwork remotely for some reason, we will email or text you to tell you that you must come into our offices in person.
