New standards for addressing and road naming have been adopted

The Gallatin County Board of Commissioners have adopted the Gallatin County Addressing and Road Naming Policies and Procedures Manual. The manual aims to provide a structure for addressing and road naming in Gallatin County that improves the locational services for emergency response, provides transparency about the policies around addressing, and improves the efficiency of addressing operations. This manual provides guidance on the following topics:
- How to choose a suitable road name.
- How to get an unnamed road assigned an official road name.
- How to get a road renamed.
- How to determine address ranges
- Address number display
- How the address reference system is structured
