Address Verification Request Form

The Gallatin County Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Division is responsible for issuing, changing, and maintaining official addresses in the unincorporated areas of Gallatin County. Generally, the addresses posted in the web maps are the official addresses for the respective site/structure. Physical addresses reported in the Montana Cadastral, Google Maps, or any other agency are not sources for official addresses, if these reported addresses conflict with the address on the web map, defer to the web map address. Additionally, physical addresses do not include a postal community or zip code. Gallatin County GIS only handles physical addresses, issues with postal communities and/or zip codes for mailing addresses need to be directed to the US Postal Service (USPS). This form may be use to affirm the existence of or verify addresses where there's an outstanding issue whether it be with conflicting records or something else. Please use the search bar on the web map application to search for the address or property in question before submitting this form  as most of these issues can be resolved there. If further research is needed, use this form to submit a request for information or verification.

Address Inquiry is for cases where you would like the Structure Address Assignment or would like to know more about what address is associated. Conflicting data is in regard to what you were aware the address is for that lot is not what is shown. Cadastral and tax records take time to update to accurate information, here at GIS we can not change what cadastral says, we just verify what is in our system as the appropriate address. Other is for cases where you feel your inquiry doe not fall into either of those categories, if that is the case carefully describe what you need.
