Someone to Respond - Mobile Crisis Services

The Mobile Crisis Team (MCT), staffed by Connections Health Solutions, is an emergency mental health program for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in Gallatin County. The MCT is comprised of local behavioral health professionals that provide on-scene evaluation, treatment, and crisis intervention. Services are provided to anyone experiencing a mental health emergency. The team currently operates 12 hours a day, seven days a week.

The MCT is trained to respond to situations where, as the result of a psychiatric condition or a major life event, the person may be a danger to themselves or others. Evaluations and additional services are provided to individuals who are experiencing:

  • Suicidal threats/thoughts
  • Suicide survivor
  • Substance use/abuse
  • Domestic disturbance
  • Trauma or other tragic events

For all situations, individuals will receive a psychosocial evaluation which will help the team determine which resources may be best for the situation. The team will work with the individual and their supports to coordinate any referrals, complete safety plans, or assist in connecting the individual to an appropriate facility if the situation requires additional resources to help keep them safe The MCT will also follow-up with the individual and their supports to ensure they have received what they needed.

The mobile crisis team is trained to deliver interventions and treatment that diffuse the situation onsite. When necessary, the team is authorized to recommend and facilitate treatment to a higher level of care.

Since the program’s launch in summer of 2022, the team has seen great success providing interventions and support to the community. Looking forward, the team is hoping to expand operations to be available to the community 24/7.
