Existing Services

Bozeman Health provides Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) adjacent to the emergency department at Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center and is open 24/7/365. The PES area is designed to deliver an enhanced level of care that provides a calming and therapeutic environment for patients experiencing acute behavioral health needs in our community.

The PES area can serve up to five patients at a time and comprises two single occupancy rooms and a three-patient community milieu area. This patient care area is dedicated to behavioral health services and optimizes clinical space to support safety and an environment conducive to stabilization.

Bozeman Health has a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team made up of four full-time crisis intervention specialists, a full time peer support specialist, psychiatric patient care technicians, registered nurses, as well as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. These team members provide 24/7 coverage with evaluations and therapeutic support for those seeking care for a behavioral health crisis as well as provide consult on medication management.

Future Services

Bozeman Health is building an adult psychiatric inpatient unit at Deaconess Regional Medical Center on the first floor Madison Wing. Planning, design, construction and workforce recruitment are ongoing with construction completion estimated for late 2023 and opening planned in 2025.

A crisis response center (CRC) is a safe, dedicated space for high-quality care and treatment that offers individuals walk-in psychiatric urgent care services as well as an extended stabilization unit.

A Gallatin County CRC, while an important part of the continuum, has been put on hold due to funding challenges which impacted the long-term sustainability of the center.
